Info About the Author

  • Robert “R.J.” Wilson is a YA Fantasy author and a theological mind. His latest series, “The Wayman’s Code”, is a YA Urban Fantasy designed to grip those who crave powerful and supernatural stories. When not working as a cop, Soldier, or as a writer, Robert loves to spend time with loved ones, read, cook, and game.

  • At a young age, a teacher presented Robert Wilson with a fiction book as a gracious gift. Unbeknownst to her, this would open his eyes to the magical world of reading. When he wasn’t gallivanting about the streets in intense games of hide-n-seek, he spent his childhood in Lorain, OH, reading and growing in his love for stories in various forms. He particularly loves those that feature superpowered humans, morally gray characters, and modern worlds with elements that defy reality.

He wrote many stories at a young age, but soon allowed that passion to fade. In college, his writing passion was reinvigorated and (over the years) he found that combining his experience in police work, as a Soldier, and a Bible student, allowed him to interweave the dark, gritty, and imperfect aspects of the human experience into his stories—without crossing his line of course.

In addition to fiction, Robert loves to study and understand biblical concepts as they relate to modern living. He began the Biblical Intersections blog as a way to channel his other passion—communicating theology to others in a way that helps them grow.

Robert founded BookTorch Publishing, LLC in 2021, and through it, published The Wayman’s Code series. This series began as vivid scenes that marinated in his mind for many years before ink hit the paper. In writing a series that highlights an angel/demon motif, he seeks to break the fourth wall on an invisible realm with spirits at war, while crafting characters that cause us to think, bring us to grief, and inspire us to choose the hard right over the easy wrong.

When he is not working, studying, or writing, you can find him reading, spending time with loved ones, gaming, and hating the Midwest anytime winter starts.
